Valorant the game you may want to play
Riot's first and new FPS game went beta test for NA and EU regions. Before beta test went live, last weekend was boosted by gaming community for Valorant. Twitch teamed up with Riot Games and dropped beta test keys for who watched their famous streamers on Twitch. Today was not the different but there are gamers who still want to have the beta key though. (Obviously the most scapegoat at the moment on Twitch is OW as they are losing their viewer of the games.)
I was able to wake up early last weekend and then started to watch DrLupo's streaming where he answered the chat's various and repeatable questions based on what he played the game.
And then he had around an hour's session with two Riot's developers for the game:

- Beta phase? Riot will distribute more beta keys as time goes by. (한국에선 언제하는 것일까요? ㅠ_ㅠ)
- Monetization plan: The game is free to play. No pay to win. Cosmetics and battle pass will be presented, relatively familiar with LoL. No rootbox planned at the moment. (Pay to Win이 아니라는 부분을 상당히 강조했습니다.)
- Ranked system: It's Rating system. No rank mode in beta. (베타 이후에 승점 시스템을 도입할 예정입니다.)
- How the match making system goes? Solo queue can go grouping with 4 other agents. (솔로로 대기열에 등록할 경우도 다른 게임과 마찬가지로 팀에 편입됩니다.)
- What are the plan for adding Maps: More than 2 and less then 20. To keep making high quality map and maps are a big part of balance, Riot takes time for it. (20개 이하의 지도를 공개할 예정이며, 지도 자체가 게임 벨런스에 영향을 끼치기 때문에 고품질의 지도를 구현하고자 노력하고자 한답니다.)
- Number of the agents: Up to 10 when it launches for closed beta. (에이전스 숫자는 현재 베타에 구현된 것처럼 10종입니다. 후에 늘어나겠죠?)
- Any plan to give all access to all Rioters? Probably unlikely. The team is aiming for launch the game summer in 2020. Due to the COVID-19, there are things unknown so far. (라이엇 계정에 등록된 모든 사용자에게 게임 엑세스를 주기는 어려울 것 같습니다. 코로나 바이러스의 영향이 어느 업계든 지대하네요.)
- Release date? The team will kill the producer if they don't launch the game in summer 2020. It has been very long to develop the game for the team. There is nothing really they know that they can hit the launch this summer. Still positive. (출시 일정은 현재 공개된 2020년 여름으로, 개발팀에서 해당 일정 출시를 굉장히 염원하며 아직은 긍정적이라고 합니다.)
- Controller support: Might be. (컨트롤러 지원은 아직 시기 상조로 보입니다.)
- Is it coming to console platform too? Not right now. Not saying no to on multiple platform but if the game can't hit on PC players, like competitive play, they can expand the game on other platforms. 9번 답변과 일맥상통합니다만, PC 플랫폼에서 성공한 이후에 멀티 플랫폼 이식을 고려해 보겠다는 답으로 이해하면 될 것 같습니다.)
- Network peak management: When you play against a player who has lower latency, you can merely notice them because every shot is hitting proceeded on the client side not the server side. There are always going to be a hiccup between the long range areas. (네트워크 처리 방식이 클라이언트 사이드이기 때문에 핑이 튀거나 하는 일은 당연히 있을 수 있지만, 사격 자체는 이루어지기 때문에 이런 지연 현상을 느끼진 못할 거라고 합니다만, 현재 플레이어들 평을 보면 지연 현상이 두드러지는 듯 합니다.)
- Network server in NA: Central US located. Latin-America and Australia covered. Due to the COVID-19, they are having a hard time to set up the server on the regions to regions. It will be slow. (북미 서버에서 남미, 오스트렐리아 커버하는 것으로 보입니다.)
- Anti-cheat: As the game itself is free to play, they develop the game against cheat from the beginning. The server can tell who the hacker is on the client side.
- Agents: They have a release plan for agents in development. (에이전스 출시 계획을 보유하고 있다고 하네요.)
- Harassment, ban and cheat policy: They have a very strong stand to ban cheat and harassment. (치트나 밴 가이드라인이 어떻게 나오는지 보죠.)
- Avoid players option: Focus on this for Riot is that how to make sure to give positive experience and how to end the game when they detect cheaters. (치팅을 하는 플레이어를 포착했을 때 게임을 어떻게 처리할지에 대해서 긍정적인 경험을 줄 수 있는 방향을 찾아야 할 듯 합니다.)
- FOV: 103. Screen resolution: 4:3 up. No stretch support yet. (4:3 이상의 해상도를 지원할 것이랍니다.)
- Custom Mode: Riot won't have server for custom and no community creator mode supports available at the moment. (커스텀 모드나 커뮤니티에서 개발한 모드 지원은 현재 불가능하답니다.)
- Streamer mode: They will look into it. (스트리머 모드는 지원 가능할지 추후 확인이 가능할 거 같습니다.)
- Leavers penalty: This will need to have feedback on how to make positive game play experience for sure. (게임 중도 탈출 게이머들의 경우도 16번과 연관되어 검토될 것으로 보입니다.)
- Mouse sensitivity: Vertical or horizontal. This is something Riot needs to look into deeply for better gaming experience. (마우스 감도: FTP 게임의 특성상 중요한 부분이므로, 게임 경험을 향상시킬 수 있는 방향으로 현재 구현된 부분을 개선할 것으로 보입니다.)
- Update frequency of the game: Hotfix and balance patch they plan as usual. Riot will response as fast as they can do to fix things and have time to update balance and game play wise. (게임 업데이트 주기는 핫픽스나 밸런스 패치 등 기존 게임과 유사한 형식으로 진행될 것이며, 특히 핫픽스의 경우 최대한 빠르게 대응할 수 있도록 하겠다는 주의입니다.)
- Characters backstory: Backstory of the origin for an Agent and some story to read for fun will be eventually ready. (에이전트의 개별 이야기나 스토리 등 읽을 거리를 제공하는 걸 언젠간 공개할 것이겠죠?)
- Local LAN support: Hard to support the system at the moment. (로컬 LAN 지원은 현재로서는 어려워 보입니다.)
- Esports: They said they should. Riot will have and publish their community esports guideline soon and they should be looking at and investing their change of Esports. The team is working on it and researching tons of stuffs. (In chat: 200 years of researching? LOL) (Esports 안 할리가 없겠죠? 여러 가지 검토 중인 것으로 보입니다. 리그나 기타 형태에서 LoL이 품었던 문제를 해결할 수 있을지 기대됩니다.)
- Rating: Riot is not there yet. (이건 좀 기다려야 하겠죠? 제 예상은 12/15세입니다.
- Agent skins: Agent skins can be little trickier. Integrity of the game can matter for them. Riot is not going to do that until they can make sure of it. (에이전스 스킨 출시는 좀 어려운 문제로 보입니다. 게임 벨런스에 문제를 주지 않고 할 수 있거나 갈아 엎는 수준이 되지 않는 형태로 고려될 거 같습니다.)
- Seasons: Who doesn't like the season? LOL (누가 시즌 안 좋아할까요? 당연히 구현되겠지요.)
- CS players ave very opinionated and the game is great and it is very much like CS. Any inspiration from CS? - This is a great question. The important thing players understand is that they have people who love CS itself. You can talk about origin mojo but the most of the developers love CS and their goal is to create sophisticated FPS game. (카운트 스트라이크에 굉장한 영향을 받은 게임으로 보인다는 질문에 개발팀에 해당 게임을 사모하는 개발자들이 포진되어 있다고 합니다. 오마주까진 아니라고 해도 많은 영항을 받았겠지요. 세련된 FPT 게임이 무엇으로 탄생할지 기대됩니다.)
